In a video interview with the WSJ.com, DBE president Niki Fielding talks about the mistakes small companies make when trying to help potential customers find their websites.
In Worth a Minute: Optimizing Search, Niki explains the importance of understanding what you want to achieve through SEO: “A lot of companies haven’t thought about what they want the optimization to do for them. Are they trying to generate awareness? Are they looking to generate sales leads? Do they need to drive orders through optimization? They really need to plan out what they’re looking to achieve in order to get the right results.”
The video interview also touches on the importance of identifying your competitors in the search environment, as well as her recommendations for learning more about the fundamentals of SEO/SEM.
